For most laptops, you can't even use it without having a supplemental power source just for this device. The instructions are barely comprehensible and filled with errors, and if followed literally, I can't even install the software for this stupid thing. I tried several times, changing my methods slightly, to simply install the software and try to put a very short video that I had on my hard drive onto a DVD, which is the whole reason why I bought this, and that doesn't even work. Now I have an ugly plastic paperweight. Total piece of crap.
