A friend turned me on to Square Trade, so since the warranties were so low in price, I started buying them for every new electronic toy I bought, mainly so I could sleep better at night knowing that just in case, I would be covered. It just so happens, last month I had to make a claim for a portable DVD player that stopped working just 1 month after the manufacturer warranty had ended. I called Square Trade and had them walk me through making the claim on line. Then, they emailed me a pre-paid UPS return label to send back the DVD player, then after they rec'd it on their end & determined it was indeed dead, I had the WHOLE ammount I paid for the player sent to my Paypal account within 4-5 days!
I have warranties through them from my $70 fax machine, all the way up to my $1,500 HDTV. Plus, you can usually find coupon codes for 20%-30% off the price of the warranty most of the time, which makes it even sweeter a deal.
Also, I have to say how awesome their customer service is. They are very knolegable & professional on the phone, and they answer their emails extremely promptly. To me, customer service is everthing knowadays, and Square Trade exceeds all my expectations.
