Keep in mind that the 3D effect is not that great but not any worst than you would expect for the price. This product does have the ability to play 3D dvd's. Unfortunately, in this country most of the 3D movies are only 3D on Bluray discs. Home made 3D dvd's should play on this product. The software to convert movies from 2D to 3D is mediocre.
This is a low cost product from China so it does have a few flaws. First of all, the product needs an adjustment for the 3D depth like the Nintendo 3Ds has. The inability to adjust the 3D affect makes it difficult to focus on the lenticular 3D screen. Secondly, there is alot of background noise (popping) when using the headphone jack. The noise is louder when using the 3D modes. The final flaw is low batter life. This makes it difficult to use in a vehicle on road trips because there is no included 9 Volt cigarette lighter plug. You need to purchase the 9 Volt cigarette lighter plug separately.
I rate this as a mediocre product due to it's flaws, however, it is a great first attemt at creating a 3D stand alone player. I would say that this product is good as a novelty toy for a person over the age of 8.
