(More customer reviews)I don't think they sound as bad as the other reviewers, but there is an unforgivable design flaw which I truly hope Senheiser has corrected and will never make again. The wire has an unusual rubber feel to it, which seems to resist tangling (I'd imagine that's why they used it) but it also transmits every bump, touch, graze of said wire through the earbud and is reproduced, rather loudly, in your ears.
These CANNOT be worn while performing any activity whatsoever. In order to enjoy your listening experience, you must sit absolutely still and route the cord in such a manner that it will not be touched by anything, including your chest while you breathe. I can not for the life of me figure out why there was no product testing phase for this item. This would have easily been flagged as an issue and if Senheiser was an honest, customer minded company, the issue would have been corrected BEFORE 10,000 units were produced and shipped out.
Sadly, I made the mistake of not purchasing these from Amazon, and was refused an RMA number. Since I'm stuck with them anyway, I've been thinking of cutting the cord (toward the entry to the earbud) and replacing a small section with a cord of a different material, cloth based perhaps, to see if that will reduce the noise from touching the cord.
