Product worked well for approximately two hours, performing all specified feats on my 3G iPhone, including charging and allowing me to play music from the iPod portion of the phone and from apps like Pandora. Into the second hour of use the product stopped providing power to charge my iPhone, however the phone would still recognize when power in the car was being shut off or on. I noticed this because turning the key from on to off or vice-versa would awaken a blank screen. This was irritating in its own right, however the topper came when the device no longer functioned at all, which occured after a week of being installed. The iPhone would no longer recognize being docked onto the device and I could no longer get sound from my iPhone into my existing system like I was doing just a day or two prior. Overall I rate this product as garbage and a total waste of money. I'm finding something else to pipe my iPhone sounds into my pre-existing car stereo. I suggest you do the same.

The adapter works. However, the sound quality is not even close to what I get from my in dash factory CD player. The volume of the sound coming from the adapter is much lower and the beats are not as crisp. Can't say that it does not work but I am not satisfied and will probably change my whole head unit just to get a solid aux input to match my perfect bose system.

It wasn't too bad to install. Had to run the wires from the trunk all the way to the front, under the carpet. The sound is great until you take a turn and half the speakers cut out. It does this because the metal prongs that connect to the audio system in the back come lose, very often.

Easy install if you know how to get to the back of your head unit. Control box is pretty easy to hide within your dash. The auxiliary wires that come with it are quite long that I can almost reach the back seat with them. Great product, just a little expensive for what it actually does in my opinion. Installed it in an 04 Acura TL.

Despite the Amazon description of this as a "portable dvd player", this is strictly a shelf unit, nothing portable about it. The product box it ships in even describes it as a "micro-shelf unit". Because the Amazon product description calls it portable, and because one reviewer stated that it could be used with the speakers separated or as one unit, I mistakenly believed the speakers were attachable and the unit could be moved about as a portable unit. This is not the case. The speakers are strictly detached with about four feet of cable for each. We wanted to be able to pick it up at a moments notice and carry it to the basement during storms and also take it on trips. It cannot be used for either easily, and there is no handle with which you can carry it or battery option, hence it just is not a portable TV/DVD player.
Prior to this, we bought the Naxa NDL-400 7-Inch TFT LCD Display Portable DVD Player with Digital TV TUNER, AM/FM Stereo Radio, USB Input and SD/MMC Card Slots that actually was portable, but the sound quality on dvd playback was too poor for us and it did not play audio cds so we sent it back. Lastly, after the Coby we tried the only other boombox 7" tv/dvd unit left on Amazon that I could find, a GPX BT780B 7 Inch LCD Portable TV/DVD/AM/FM Boombox, and it was very flimsy and by far the poorest quality of the three.
After playing some Christmas cd's like the Vince Gauraldi Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack I have to say the sound on the Coby is impressively good for a small plastic speaker and much better than the NAXA and GPX boombox models. Gauraldi's piano notes came across very well defined. Very surprised, though there is not much bottom available if you want your music to thump. I was tempted to keep it for the music purposes only but don't need to spend the money on something that clearly does not meet our needs.
One caveat to mention, the tray that holds the disks appears to be VERY flimsy and longevity may be an issue. If you need a small shelf unit with all these features and want to take a chance on the dvd player lasting awhile, I'd recommend it. It just isn't what we wanted or expected based on the "portable" description. We did not attempt adjusting the screem image, but on the default settings it was not as bright or pleasant as the NAXA model.
I usually have better luck getting what I expected based on Amazon descriptions, but not with this "portable" Coby.

Precision Interface Electronics HON98-AUX Connect a portable music player, satellite radio tuner, or DVD player to your factory Honda receiver Review

Works as advertised with minimum fuss. I did not need to remove the radio to install on my 2003 hybrid - I simply popped off the lower dash fascia piece which contains the cigarette lighter and two empty popout panels. I could then simply reach up to the back of the radio and install the blue end of the connector in the socket in the back of the radio. Probably took 5 mins fiddling, a lot quicker than popping the whole panel. I installed a 1/8 jack in the center popout panel, connected that to the RCA out, and connected the ground wire (v important) to the ground on the cigarette lighter plug. I then popped the lower dash fascia back on. There is ample room behind it for the electronics.

PAC aPAC-TOY1 Dual Auxiliary Audio Input for Select 2005?2008 Toyota/Lexus Vehicles Review

PAC aPAC-TOY1 Dual Auxiliary Audio Input for Select 20052008 Toyota/Lexus Vehicles
Average Reviews:

I installed this device in my 2006 Toyota Sienna XLE. Previously I was using a Sirius Sportster with FM modulator, wired in line with the Antenna. After installing an Alpine overhead DVD unit, I wanted to have both sources ran in via AUX inputs, not 2 FM modulators (I have read that the Alpine has limited volume via FM). Installation was extremely easy, I plugged in RCA connectors between the overhead and AUX1 on the aPAC unit. I used the 3.5mm connector for the Sportster.
According the owners manual "Press the AM/SAT button to switch to AM then again to switch back to SAT. Immediately turn the TUNE KNOB to scroll through available sources. Once AUX1 is displayed, press PRESET 3 to select it. Selecting between AUX1 / AUX2: If you are currently in AUX1 or AUX2 mode turn the TUNE KNOB to cycle through the available sources. Once AUX1 or AUX2 is displayed on the screen press PRESET 3 to select it."
I followed the instructions, however if I want to switch, I have to press the AM/SAT button twice, then roll the knob and press 3. Minor inconvenience, but still frustrating. If you don't push 3, it will make the switch, but it takes several seconds with an audible thump at the switch.
My Sportster still has a built in FM modulator, even though I discontinued use of the in-line device. The sound volume and quality is BETTER ON FM than using the AUX device. There is a noticeable background noise and lack of detail in the music - Like you might get if you compress a song from CD to MP3 using terrible software.
List on this device is near a buck fifty, I paid under eighty from Amazon. I have a request into PAC-Audio tech support. I don't want to discontinue use of this device, I worked too hard to install the DVD and fish the audio cables to abandon their use.
Ultimately, this device is genius by design, but is coming up short on performance. I CAN HEAR my Aux sources without using FM modulators. It isn't like I can't get the volume loud enough, but my factory Head Unit is nearly all the way up (which adds to the distortion).
There are many variations of this product for other vehicles, GM/Ford/Nissan etc. Perhaps this is isolated to Toyota, maybe I have a defective unit, maybe there is a firmware fix.
If you buy this unit. Double check the performance BEFORE you put your car back together.

Scosche FM-MOD02 Universal Audio Input FM Modulator for iPod, Satellite Radio or Portable Music Player Review

Scosche FM-MOD02 Universal Audio Input FM Modulator for iPod, Satellite Radio or Portable Music Player
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Works pretty much as advertised: far better than wireless FM, not as good as an auxiliary port.
Basically, if your car's head unit (radio/CD player) doesn't come with a built-in external auxiliary port, you have four options to connect your MP3 player: (1) FM wireless, (2) FM wired, (3) aux port (if available), or, (4) a new radio.
Option (1) is useless; as to option (2), the Scosche FM modulator is probably the cheapest one you can find. There are some better FM modulators (eg, with 8 programmable freqs), but they are quite a bit more expensive. Options (3) or (4), which are also more expensive, offer much better quality. If sound quality is important to you and you're willing to spend the extra cash, look into hooking up through the aux port (if your car has it) or replacing the HU (these days, fairly decent radio/CD/MP3 players are not very expensive).
If you go for this FM modulator, there are a few things you should be aware of.
First, the device consists of the modulator itself and a (very) cheap plastic switch housing, containing the switch which turns the device on and a 3.5 mm female jack for audio input. The housing connects to the modulator via a Molex connector (for the switch) and two RCA jacks (for the audio input). The wires connecting the switch housing to the modulator are insulated, but unsightly and you definitely do not want them exposed. (You connect the MP3 player via the provided 3.5 mm male-to-male cable.) If you listen to the radio, you will likely need access to the switch, because reception of AM and some FM stations can be severely degraded with the modulator on.
Second, mine came with absolutely no instructions or diagrams, and Scosche provides no support on their web site. If you want to do the installation yourself, you're on your own. It's not too difficult -- if you know what you're doing. Basically, you take out the head unit, splice the red wire into an available +12V line (eg, cig lighter), and the black wire into a good ground. Connect the modulator's antenna jacks in-between the antenna and the car radio (here, depending on your car, you might require an antenna jack adaptor). Find a good location for the switch housing, attach the modulator securely, connect the switch and the RCA jacks, choose one of the two FM freqs available, put everything back, and you're good to go.
Third, the switch housing is poorly designed and made out of very cheap plastic. Its back is open (picture it as a cube with one side missing), and the housing itself is too short relative to the depth of the switch and connectors. That severely limits the choice of location for mounting the switch housing, if you don't want to have exposed cables. The housing is mounted by means of a piece of double-sided adhesive tape (provided).
Overall, installation is not too difficult, and, if you can do it yourself, it's worth it. If you have to pay for the installation, consider first an aux port or a new radio/CD player, which provide better sound quality.
Some reviewers complain of humming and/or background noise. I'd be inclined to blame that on a bad installation -- if installed with a good solid ground, this shouldn't be a problem.
Another complaint is that sound volume is too low. In a sense, that's not really the modulator's fault -- it's a basic mismatch between the electrical characteristics of the modulator's audio input and an MP3 player's output; and that's because the latter is designed to drive headphones, not to provide a line-level audio signal, while the former expects a line-level signal. (Test the modulator with any device, such as CD or DVD player, which provides line-level output, and you'll find that the volume level is within normal limits.) You'll have the same problem (volume too low) with any device not designed specifically to handle a headphone signal as audio input.
