(More customer reviews)We have this mounted in the car and it is been use day in day out. From short grocery store trips to long weekend road trips. Plays every thing that has been thrown at it. Never had a single issue, no skips or freezes. Robustly built and comes with all the necessary cables and strips to mount on the head reset. Either you need 110V or 12V in the rear of the car. Then just push the wires through the sides of the car-seat back and be done. Nice and clean, it looks very professional. It also has headphone output, so that I dont have to constantly bombarded with go Diego go song all the time. Video is bright and crisp, it has a good viewing angle even during day time. I wish it had support for battery so that we can use it during camping. It constantly needs to be connected to power. Apart from that I have zero complaints. Fantastic price for dual screen DVD that works all the time. It can continue to play where it left every time the car starts, a must for long trips. I dont want to go back and tinker with it when ever I stop for gas or coffee break.

I wanted to use it to play X-Box 360 in the car. it does NOT have the AV inputs that it says it has. it does however come with 2 layed-back style head phones, and a total of three head phone jacks. IMPORTANT although it did come with a rechargable battery you also need to plug the second screen into the wall or car plug to get it to play on both screens. there was a small humming noise when I used the player but not loud enought to matter. it seems to be of pretty good make and is a good buy if you are looking to watch movies in the car without distracting the driver.

I've had it for a little less than a year and all I can say is it's awful. Moving through music playlists is nothing short of painful. No fast scroll, each click moves you down one song. This is overcome by the horrendous screen, heavy and dark. I got this for free with another product, which is why it gets one star. No telling how upset I would be had I actually paid for the thing.

I like the fact that that the player remembers where it left off so you don't have to restart the movie from the beginning. The units can be powered either by cigarette lighter (both players) or wall outlet (for one player). And the straps for the vehicle head rests work just fine. Overall, I am pleased with this product.

(More customer reviews)I tracked this system down specifically for its ability to play Divx, XVid, or MPEG4. I put several movies on a DVD and I was able to view the directory structure and choose the title I wanted to play. On all of the movies I tried the aspect ratio was compressed top to bottom with black bars. The LCD has two choices for aspect ratio neither of which helped. Regular DVD's play and display fine so it's something about the MPEG4 rendering. One of my movies had AC3 sound and, of course, that didn't work.
So I installed and got the LCD's nice and snug on the headrests and off we went to visit Granny. About half way there the unit stopped reading discs. I returned the system today for a full refund. I will be ordering another from an online vendor at a better price with hopes that the failure was an anomally.
Includes an A/C adaptor and a rechargable battery unit that attaches to the player. Also includes two earplug earphones that were too big for my four year old's ears. :)

they are lightweight, cheap feeling plastic units. the displays are acceptable and kids will not notice their relatively poor quality - my portable panasonic dvd player's display is much better! sound is sort of tinny. due to the streamlined design, some of the controls are hard to use and i can foresee kids having a little trouble with them. once setup though, only things to adjust are probably the direction/play buttons on the face of the main unit, volume controls and on/off switches.
they use a belt clip that just loops around the headrest and are lengthy enough to get around my honda pilot's headrests. simple and effective.
it comes with a regular plug-in power that can be used for the main unit but, not the 2nd unit. the car plug-in power cable, which is very long, splits to power both units. a single 1/8" plug A/V cable connects the two units. it also came with a 1/8" inch plug to a split yellow (video), and red/white (stereo sound) cable adapter. you could use it to connect your main unit to another tv if you want. both units have headphone jacks which i did not test yet. only the main unit has a flip out stand (as shown in the picture) so that you can watch it on a table.
so basically, this is "cheap and cheerful." i give it four stars because for the price, it is a very nice unit. easy to setup and install, and it works fine.
i hope it lasts...

(More customer reviews)While looking at new SUVs last year, I found the major NEW gadget was a DVD player installed either overhead or in the back of the front headrests. I had no interest in this, because after all, my children can amuse themselves in the car!!! And we have so much to talk about on long car trips, right? WRONG!!!
I purchased this at Target for $ 279 and it has been well worth twice the price. It has two good size screens with their own volume control each. It takes about 1 minute to install thanks to ONLY 3 wires and velcro and is so easy to operate, even a mom can pop in a dvd for the back passengers while sitting in traffic(although you should familiarize yourself with it before getting on the road).
I would also like to add, the wires from the dvd player to the monitors are long enough that with a certain amount of creativity, you could very easily use one monitor in the second row and one in the third row if you have that type of SUV or van.
The best part of it is, after speaking to people who have the dvd player factory installed in their vehicles, this one is removable for every day driving around town, so nobody is screaming for Dora or Spongebob on a 3 minute drive to the supermarket!!
Definately a must have with kids on LOOOOOOONG TRIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I might have just gotten a lemon regarding the remote. The fast forward, etc takes several attempts before it responds. Not a very sensitive key pad. Other than that, no issues. I like the weight and the added feature of being able to play movies from other sources than just DVD's.

(More customer reviews)We purchased this unit for a road trip with our young children. I couldn't have asked for a better unit. We paid about $140 with fulfillment by Amazon.
It comes with all the cables you'll ever need: A/C adaptor, car adaptor, cassette adaptor (not sure what that's for), cables to connect DVD player to a TV, cable to connect DVD playing unit to the second monitor, two sets of headphones. Also comes with remote control and batteries.
The included cases that hold the units to the back of the front-row headrests were easy to install and work fine. The car cord reaches from the front seat all the way to the outlet in the trunk of my Honda Odyssey, leaving the front outlet available for phone/ipod/gps/etc.
The picture is clear on both screens, and sound from either unit was clear and loud enough even on bumpy roads. Anti-skip technology worked well.
Potential Cons (and I'm really stretching to call them "cons"):
1. You have to unplug, then take the player out of the headrest-mounted holder to change the DVD. I didn't think this was hard to do; I'd get the movie cued up before replacing the unit in its holder.
2. DVD player takes an extra moment or two to skip ahead when you press the >> button. This is relative to a nice DVD player I have in my family room at home. I can't see how this would inconvenience anyone too much. It's a matter of a few seconds, not "forever."
3. Headphones are a strange design, I couldn't figure out how to get them to fit on anyone's head. They do work, we plugged them in just to test them out, but we never intended to use them, so I didn't try too hard to figure out how to make them fit. I'll give Coby the benefit of the doubt and assume they probably do fit on someone's head, somehow. [update: I got a teenager to show me how the headphone goes around the ear. I feel so OLD.]
4. Be careful where you store the screens; like other portable DVD players, they can scratch.
BOTTOM LINE: Just what we needed, high quality video and audio on both screens for a great price! Highly recommend.

pros: works, works well, large screen, hooks easily to back of headrest, remote, works in car and in house or hotel room, the screen and speakers provide a great show.
cons: no video input... can't make use of screen for anything else like video games, no battery so no using on plane or anything.
overall, we have been very satisfied with this and recommend if you are ok with the no video input no battery restictions....

Axion AXN-6979 7-Inch Dual Screen Portable DVD Player (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)So I bought this dvd player before going on a 3 day driving trip with my two kids, loving that it had dual screens so that I could put one on the normal way, and the other on the backseat headrest for my son who is still in a rear facing seat. It worked really great for about 2 uses (in the same day of driving), but after the second time we used it, the screen w/ the player in it wouldn't show the display bright enough to see anything on it. My son was very disappointed, and I've been using it just for my 3 yr old, since the baby doesn't really care too much right now. However, he will, so I'm going to contact the company and see if they'll replace or fix the unit. It still plays the dvds, and if you look really really closely, you can kind of see the image on the screen, but the brightness dial doesn't make it brighter at all, and I can't get it to where we can use that screen at all. It really stinks that this happened. And I didn't drop it, knock it, or leave it out in extreme temps. either. Not sure what the deal is, but it's either a lemon, or not a good model.
As to the previous statement's comment about the dvd starting up right where it left off when you turn off the car, I think that only works with cars that will charge things in the cig. lighter when the car is turned off. I have a honda, and they don't do that, and neither will Toyota's. Just so you know. The dvd player starts up all over again when you turn the car off.
I do like the dual screens (or did, when they both worked), and love that it has a power adapter for inside as well as in the car. It also has the a/v input so you can use it with video game systems if you want to. I'm really hoping the company will help out with this unit, b/c it's so nice to have on the long car trips!

I have searched high and low for a video player with SDHC memory card reader that would replace the 'strap on' portable DVD players I use in my car for kiddos. Of course, those of you who have ever owned one of those DVD players knows how annoying it is to use a DVD player that skips while the car is in motion, as it gets older, the grinding and spinning noise gets louder and louder, and having to swap out discs frequently.
Well, after I learned how to make my DVD movies into MP4 or AVI files, I went on the crusade to hunt for a media video player that would do away with DVDs and just play off of video files with a nice big LCD screen. This certainly was the closet thing that came to it. Then I had to figure out how I can mount such a thing behind the passenger's seat headrest, then the perfect device was found: This bracket below will mount off the headrest and then you just screw tight the video player on the bottom where there is a hole for it much like a camera mounts on a tripod.

The player comes with a car DC power adapter for the cigarette lighter plug, and a GERMAN/EUROPIAN Shinko style power plug that wouldn't work in the United States unless you had an adapter to switch it to the U.S. style wall plug. The AC transformer itself is self-switching between 110v and 220/v, so it works in either U.S. or Europe, just the style of the AC plug is not for the U.S. This was fine with me, having been to Germany many times and predominantly it will be used in a car anyways. It also comes with a nice stand for home use, so you can keep your kids busy in the house by mounting this on the provided stand and it becomes a little MP3 video player.
Now the ugly - it won't play MP4 video format, no matter how I copy the file to MP4 format from DVD. However, it does take AVI file format just fine, and I have inserted up to 16GB size of SDHC memory card and it recognized it although it did work a bit funny so I stuck with 4GB size SDHC memory card and it was more consistent in reading the contents.
So this is the future, boys and girls... no more DVD's skipping... no more changing out DVD's in the car... just dump all your movie files onto one SDHC memory card, and it will play through all of the movies, keeping your child happy and you on driving at the same time. Cheers.

We used the new cord twice before the cheap plastic broke and it was useless and I was out another 20 dollars. The seller was fine, got the product fast.....it's just a cheap replacement for a already cheap dual dvd player.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this monitor to replace a backup camera mirror monitor that washed out except on an overcast day. The unit is advertised as being a "headrest" monitor. I wasn't going to install it on a headrest but noticed there was no provision to attach it. Other brands have either a harness or extendable tabs to secure their monitors to the back of the headrest. I would not recommend the XO Vision GX2711 for that application.
The manual is as poor as any I have seen. The instructions are minimal at best. Anyone without experience installing vehicle after-market electronics would likely have problems.
I returned the monitor because the power/video/audio connector was defective. It would not make a reliable connection between the monitor and the power supply. The slightest movement would cause the unit to power down.
